Courtney Weiner has honed her litigation skills in a variety of settings, ranging from the the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia to some of the top litigation firms in the country.  She has spent significant time on her feet in court arguing and trying cases.  Courtney has handled cases involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act, fraudulent foreclosure, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, including a Fourth Circuit appeal.  She has advised the Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust at the Department of Justice on issues affecting consumers around the country and has sued big banks for the type of trading on mortgages that led to the financial crisis.  Courtney's years in private practice defending corporate clients have given her valuable insight into their litigation tactics and what to expect now that she is representing consumers.

Courtney was named a 2015 Super Lawyers Rising Star.  She has taken an active leadership role in the legal community, including serving as a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates, a Commissioner of the American Bar Association Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence, and co-chair of the DC Bar’s Litigation Section.  Courtney is also the founder and co-chair of the Litigation Section's Consumer Finance Committee.
